Abstract

John Butler, of the School of Mathematics & Statistics, will be hosting Tech Me Out 2 on 23 May, a TU Dublin event that is part of the Pint of Science festival 2023. TU Dublin is delighted to be, once again, a platinum partner of Pint of Science. Pint of Science brings some of the most brilliant scientists to your local pubs and cafes to discuss their latest research and findings with the public. This year there are free events from the 22nd to the 24th of May in eight locations across Ireland, Carlow, Cork, Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Maynooth, Mullaranny and Sligo. TU Dublin is particularly supporting the “Tech Me Out 2” event on the 23rd of May at 7 pm in The Bar on Stephen’s Green. The talks at this event will showcase the range of fascinating research in TU Dublin from digital literacy by Damon Berry (Electrical & Electronic Engineering), petroleum-derived microplastics by Enya Cody (Food Science and Environmental Health), insects as a palatable food source by Ann Conway (Food Science and Environmental Health) and explainable artificial intelligence Helen Sheridan (Computer Science).
